Dr. King wins the Nobel Peace Prize (1964) – Grades 6-8

In 1964, Dr. King won the Nobel Peace Prize for his leadership of the American Civil Rights Movement.  At 35 years old, he was the youngest person to ever win the prize.  The Nobel Prizes are awarded in Norway, so when Dr. King won, it showed that people all over the world supported the American Civil Rights Movement.
